 About Tapaswini Nav Sadhna

Initiated on 6th April 2006, Tapaswini Nav Sadhna (TNS) is a non government and non profit making societystarted by Snigdha Nanda and a few like minded friends  in New Delhi. TNS believes that education is the key to empower the underprivileged to participate in the society. With this aim of reducing inequalities in the society, TNS provides education, health facilities and also vocational training to uplift the underprivileged.

The NGO has two primary projects. One of them is a free school for underprivileged children in the name of TAPASWINI VIDYA MANDIR at Raigarh in Chattisgarh. The second project is  a free  vocational training centre for differently abled people which includes man, women and children above the age of 12 years in the name of “Saraswati Vocational Training Center for differently abled” in Barpali, Odisha in association with Saraswati Sangha. The school, Tapaswini Vidya Mandir, not only provides free education to the children but also provides them with books, stationery, uniform, shoes and socks, midday meal and medical help. The Society is also providing help and support to the children pursuing their higher studies after they pass out from the school. The vocational training center is providing free training in the field of printing, carpentry, handloom, pottery, bag making, masala making and stitching. Health and awareness camps are also organised for the people of the villages.

 Message from the founder

As a social worker I had always felt the need to contribute to the society effectively and would seek out different avenues to pursue the same. My regular visits to the backward areas in Chattisgarh and Odisha made me realize that our small efforts and initiatives are what is needed for the upliftment of the poor and destitute, especially underprivileged children. With no support from their parents or the society, I felt the need to put in as much effort as I could to secure their childhood. This drive and passion in me to make a better environment for these children was what made start Tapaswini Navsadhna. I did face a lot of hurdles initially, but I overcame all them with the support of my determined and hardworking staff and other members of the organization, and have expanded the work of the society for the upliftment of differently abled also. Today, already in its 10th year, TNS has become a very important part of not only my life but also the lives of so many marginalized children, women and elderly who had lost all hope. I congratulate every person who has contributed towards the society in any manner, for making TNS a great success and for creating the zeal in the lives of people to relive and develop themselves.

On this note, I would make an appeal to everyone to help us in our efforts to make people’s lives better. You can donate in any manner,  cheque, cash and kind.Your support and contribution will help the society to grow and fulfill its objective, vision and mission with it’s existing projects and encourage and help us to expand and start new projects.
