TVM is a completely free school providing primary education, up to class V to underprivileged children, in the small town of Raigarh, Chattisgarh. Now in its 10th year, TVM has over 180 children studying in it. Our assistance to the students does not end with providing primary education. After completing their Vth standard, all students are integrated into public schools and their high school and College education is also sponsored by TNS. Now we have around 50 students who are studying in high schools and colleges in Raigarh.
In addition to that, TVM also provides all the students with books, stationery, uniform, shoes and socks and a midday meal. Regular health check-ups are also organized and the required treatment is given to the children.
This project is undertaken by TNS, in association with Saraswiti Sangh, Barpali in 2013. Previously the center was run in a broken hall with no facilities. TNS helped the Sangha construct a permanent structure with adequate rooms, bathrooms and provided the necessary facilities to help the project get bigger and cater to a larger number of people.
The vocational training center provides free training to the differently abled in the field of printing, carpentry, handloom, pottery, bag making, masala making and stitching. Post training, TNS also helps them earn a livelihood by marketing their products. They now have associations with shops and sellers who buy their products; in addition, they also travel to exhibitions to showcase their work. Currently there are 125 students in the center.
The center has also recently started teaching the students dance and music and is looking forward to help them enrich artistically too.
Health and awareness camps are also organized for the people of the villages.
3.TNS, besides working for the underprivileged and differently abled, also believes in promoting young talent in different fields of art and culture.
